Governor Services hold a successful Chairs Conference

Just under 100 Governors from Kent schools attended the Chairs Conference on Tuesday 26th March at The Mercure. We had presentations on Strategic Vision by Clare Collins,  Head of Consultancy at The National Governance Association, Munya Badze from The Enterprise Adviser Network talking about preparing young people for the world of work and Matt Dickson from School Improvement on the wider curriculum and how to hold the SLT to account.

The Governors were fully engaged in the morning and feedback has been really positive:

“Liked how strategic and visionary role and responsibilities of governors has been presented – very clear”

“Clear, concise, focussed with variety that maintained engagement”

“Didn’t imagine how relevant this would be for primary schools but very eye opening”

“Made me think about how this subject starts in primary”

“Thought provoking, well delivered and nice to have a new area to think about”

“Very engaging useful for primary school vision”

“Interesting concepts of Intent, implementation and impact”

“Excellent resources to support delivery of rich and broad curriculum”

“A really informative insight into Ofsted/DfE perspective and framework”

“The three presentations linked well together to give strategic overview”

Don’t forget if you subscribe to the Governor Services SLA, a member of your board can attend all our conferences for free!  Don’t miss out and we look forward to seeing you at our next conference in Term 1, 2019.
