Outdoor Learning Advent Calendar - Available to Download Now!

The opportunity to learn, play and have fun outdoors is a key component to improving children’s wellbeing, resilience as well as their mental and physical health. This is particularly pertinent at this current time when we are all being asked to spend so much time indoors.

The Education People’s Outdoor Learning team has produced an Advent Calendar full of activity ideas to inspire children, schools and families to get outside and engage with nature throughout December.

There are two different versions available for download:

  1. The traditional Advent Calendar which can be assembled by the children, with supervision from an adult (attachment 1)
  2. The list of 25 activities, which could be completed in any order and at any time in December (attachment 2).

This calendar can be used with your school bubbles or even sent home for families to complete together!

We will be adding additional information and activity ideas to our social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter) throughout December, to help those using the Advent Calendar. Please do follow our accounts if you would like to be able to share these ideas with your staff or families. Also, don't forget to use our hashtag #OLAdvent!
