Statutory Compliance: Asbestos Management

Module one is an introduction to managing asbestos in the workplace. It explores what asbestos is, why it is dangerous, and the types of places that asbestos might be found.

Learners will also find out about the legislation surrounding asbestos and what it might mean to them. The steps to manage asbestos in the workplace are laid out in the legislation, and are discussed in more detail, including what should be done if materials containing asbestos are damaged.

Module two investigates Kent County Council's explicit duty to manage asbestos in all premises that we own or occupy under the Control of Asbestos Regulations (2012) legislation.

It will help you understand that duty, and the required policies and procedures.

Module 1 overview:

The purpose of this course is to help learners understand how to identify asbestos and what they need to do in order to manage it whilst complying with relevant health and safety legislation.
