Deputy and Assistant Headteacher Development Programme

Brief Overview

A series of half day sessions run across the academic year providing an opportunity for deputy and assistant headteachers to learn and develop new skills through training, networking with colleagues and discussion around current hot educational topics. Participants will have the opportunity to visit different settings and engage in co coaching opportunities. Each session will be framed by an aspect of the Education Inspection Framework.

Session 5: Moving forward: What’s my strategy?

Hot Topic: What does, what can and what will leadership look like in education? Participants will explore and evaluate the current and future models for senior leadership within the National and Local context. There will be an opportunity to explore the development of personal leadership pathways with support and guidance from advisers.

Collaborating and Sharing – Celebrate! This session will draw the activities and experiences from the school visits together. Participants will be asked to share their experiences with the rest of the group and identify the potential implications for their practice.
