Embedding Finance in your School Improvement Plan

Brief Overview

There will be discussions around making sure that there are strong links between school development planning and budget strategy, as part of the three year planning process. (Recognising how other internal school plans are linked by finance). There will be an opportunity to share good practice during feedback to the group.  

A Head Teacher and members of the Schools Financial Services team will be present to facilitate group activities giving delegates the opportunity to network with finance staff who work closely with schools.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session the delegates will:

  • Understand the links between the school’s self-evaluation, school improvement plan and the 3-year budget plan.
  • Understand the role of finance in facilitating the delivery of the school improvement plan.
  • Be able to create and cost an ongoing delivery plan.
  • Know to achieve good value for money in spending decisions to free up funds for improvement priorities.
  • Have strategies for identifying, prioritising and costing the schools improvement goals.
