Brief Overview

Are you confident in supporting children who are learning English as an additional Language (EAL)?

A child’s home language is a fundamental aspect of their personal and cultural identity. This training course will develop your knowledge of how to offer appropriate support to bilingual learners and their families.

It will provide you with information about accessing useful resources to support families and children and will explain effective strategies which support children to become confident communicators and access all learning opportunities.

  • How to build on children's experiences of their first language at home.
  • To understand the stages of bilingual language acquisition.
  • Learn practical strategies to support the acquisition of English as an Additional Language.
