SEND Reflection Tool - Small Group Reflective Conversation

Audience: Early Years & Childcare
Single session
  • Foundation

Brief Overview

This session is for Kent Early Years Providers who have engaged with the SEND Reflection Tool.

This session is funded by Kent County Council for delegates from Kent-based PVI settings, including childminders and Kent maintained nurseries. If you are a member of staff at any of these settings this session is available to you free of charge.

The SEND Reflection Tool for Early Years Group Settings provides a self-reflective framework to evaluate aspects of your team’s SEND knowledge, practice, and the provision you provide for children and their families.

Once you have started to engage with the tool within your own setting, these virtual meetings are an opportunity to come together with other SENCOs, Inclusion Leads or Managers (from across the county) and in a small group engage in reflective discussions, facilitated by an Early Years Equality & Inclusion Adviser. You will be asked to share how you have got on with the tool, what your team have identified as your setting's strengths and areas you are looking to develop further. This is an opportunity for you as practitioners to learn from each other, share examples of great practice, discuss challenges you are facing and how these might be overcome as you work towards your mission to provide the best possible experiences and support for all your children and their families.

"We found it useful to hear what the other settings do and to see that what we do is going well. It was also really helpful to hear about others experiences and the shared resources and links will be a fantastic help." Feedback from a setting about the Group Reflective Conversation.
