Brief Overview

Audience: Teachers & Teaching Assistants

Inclusion is not an add on, every child should feel valued and have access to a rich, exciting curriculum with adults supporting them every step of the way. This session aims to support teachers and teaching assistants to explore some of the key drivers behind creating a fully inclusive culture in the classroom.

The session will include: adaptive teaching and learning, adults as role models, thinking 'outside of the box', enabling learning environments and raising expectations for all.

Learning Outcomes

  • Develop knowledge and skills to enable teachers to create an inclusive environment in their classroom.
  • Gain/ build on strategies to plan for inclusion.
  • Share good practice and reflect on effective strategies.
  • How to use the mainstream core standards document to implement strategies.
